No person shall move any building or other unusually heavy load upon any street or alley within the Town (except the State highway) without first obtaining a permit therefor. Additionally, no person shall operate, drive, or move any vehicle or load having a total, gross weight of more than 30,000 lbs. over and across any paved street or alley other than the State highway during the period from November 15 to June 1 each year without first obtaining a permit therefor; excepting, however, vehicles or equipment engaged in street work, garbage collection, fire suppression, or other municipal work for or on behalf of the Town of Garfield.
